Cops Encourage Residents To Help 'Stuff The Squad' Event In Wheaton

The city's 2022 Stuff the Squad Event will be held July 20 at the Wheaton Police Department.

WHEATON, IL — The Wheaton Police Department is asking residents to donate items at its 2022 Stuff the Squad Event, which will be held July 20 to benefit those in need via People's Resource Center.

The following items are being sought to help fill up a squad car for the event:

  • Canned tuna, beans, chicken, vegetables, fruit
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Peanut butter and Jelly
  • Ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Oatmeal
  • Ground coffee
  • Shampoo and body wash
  • Toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Bar soap and liquid hand soap
  • Deodorant
  • Clorox and Lysol sprays
  • Disinfecting wipes
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dish soap
  • Diapers (size four and up)
  • Adult diapers and Poise Pads
  • Baby wipes
  • Maxi pads and tampons

“We were astonished by the generosity of our community last year when we started this program,” Community Engagement Officer Crystal Miroballi said in a news release.

Miroballi added, “Unfortunately, there are still many families who need help, especially with climbing prices of food, gas and everything else. We welcome you to help us give back in a way that directly supports neighbors who need assistance.”
