Coronavirus Levels Now 'Low' In DuPage County: Health Department
As of Sept. 26, positive coronavirus cases had been fewer than 200 per 100,000 residents in DuPage County over the week prior.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — Positive coronavirus cases have decreased in DuPage County, but health department officials are still urging residents to get vaccinated.
As of Sept. 26, the county had reported fewer than 200 cases per 100,000 residents over a period of seven days. The number of positive cases as of Sept. 22 was 117 per 100,000 residents over a seven-day period.
"Colder weather is approaching, and residents will spend more time indoors, which is generally when respiratory virus infections such as COVID-19 and flu increase," Karen Ayala Executive Director of DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) said in a news release.

Ayala added, "It’s important to take precautions to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community from getting sick by staying up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and making sure you get your flu shot."
Close to 78 percent of DuPage County residents had been fully vaccinated against coronavirus as of Sept. 26. Of these, roughly 60 percent had received their initial booster dose, according to DCHD data.
