Crews To Prune Trees South Of Butterfield Road In Wheaton
The tree pruning, which kicked off March 17, will continue throughout April.
WHEATON, IL — Forestry crews from the City of Wheaton and contractor Winkler’s Tree Service will team up to prune the parkway trees south of Butterfield Road throughout the remainder of March and April.
Drivers are advised to use caution when navigating through work zones. Traffic will remain open, however temporary lane closures may be necessary to ensure safety during work hours, which are typically between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The City’s Forestry Division divides Wheaton into seven zones, and crews rotate through a seven-year cycle to inspect and prune parkway trees. This process removes dangerous or hazardous branches, dead wood, and helps ensure a long and healthy life for parkway trees.
