Curb, Sidewalk Repairs To Cause Detours Near Memorial Park

It's anticipated the detours will be in effect for "several weeks," according to an update from the City of Wheaton.

WHEATON, IL — Curb and sidewalk maintenance will cause detours on parts of Gary Avenue and West Street in Wheaton.

The road work, which began Tuesday, will include sidewalk ramp and spot curb replacements on Gary Avenue from West to Harrison and on West Street from Wesley to Harrison.

Officials say the detours may be in effect for a few hours at once for a period of several weeks. The road work will not prevent access to Longfellow Elementary, though temporary detours may take effect near the school.
