Developer Seeks Approval To Build Grocery Store On Roosevelt Road In Wheaton

WHEATON, IL —A public hearing will be held April 28 for a proposed planned unit development at 700-800 E. Roosevelt Rd. in Wheaton that would include a grocery store and a nursery school.

Petitioners Quattro Development plan to consolidate the 3.5-acre property into a single lot. The 24,243 square foot grocery store would occupy the site's northwest corner and the 12,500 square foot nursery would occupy the site's southeast corner, according to city documents.

The site was formerly home to DuPage Dodge Chrysler Jeep and a transmission repair shop.

Per city documents, those buildings were demolished in 2023 and the site was later designated for restoration. A previous proposal for a storage facility on the property ultimately fell through.

The public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on April 28 at Wheaton City Hall.
