District 200 Plans Safety Town Halls

The safety meetings come in the wake of the devastating shooting in Aurora.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton-Warrenville District 200 officials have planned a pair of town halls to address the issue of school safety. At the town halls, district officials, along with members of the Wheaton Police and Fire Departments and the Warrenville Police Department, will be on hand to answer any questions community members have.

District 200 Spokesperson Erica Loiacono told Patch that district officials have been planning the town halls for several months. She said that over the past two years, parents reached out for details on safety procedures and information about the district's partnerships with first responders in the area.

"The town halls are intended to provide an overview of our relationship with local first responders, how we address various situations, how and when we communicate, etc., and answer as many questions as we can," Loiacono said.
