DuPage Back To School Fair Gives Care, Supplies To Those In Need

Students will have access to medical and dental care, haircuts, and school supplies at the event.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The start of the 2018-19 school year is right around the corner, which means parents are already getting bombarded with school supply lists, registration deadlines, and more. On August 1, Catholic Charities will host DuPage County Back To School Fair in Wheaton to provide dental care, haircuts, school supplies, and more to help families in need get ready for the new school year.

The event, which is held annually, is organized to help students from income insecure families start school on a "positive note," a Catholic Charities spokesperson said in a press release. The event will offer the following services at no cost to families who qualify:

  • Medical and dental services
  • Haircuts
  • Backpacks filled with school supplies
  • Info about local services and programs

Parents who are planning to take part in the DuPage County Back To School Fair, you must bring the following:

  • Proof of income
  • Recent pay stubs, tax return, or public aid and SNAP card
  • Cash income verification if unable to verify otherwise. This can be a written letter from an employer, a note from a casework, or a bank statement.
  • Proof of DuPage County residence
  • Photo ID or driver's license and lease or utility bill
  • Identification for children
  • Medical card or birth certificate
