DuPage Co. Health Department To Get 13K Vaccine Doses To Start
To start, the DuPage County Health Department will get around 13,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Health Department is set to receive approximately 13,000 doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine with its first shipment. The health department anticipates receiving weekly shipments of the vaccine, according to a news release.
The doses will be distributed first to health care personnel. Long-term care facility personnel will get the vaccine via the federal Pharmacy Partnership Program. Priority will be given to health care personnel who are at high-risk for coronavirus or who work with coronavirus patients, along with the staff who administers the vaccine.
The first doses of the Pfizer vaccine arrived in Illinois Monday. At press time, DuPage County is at a "substantial" risk for coronavirus transmission. As of Sunday, there had been 54,533 coronavirus cases in DuPage County, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
