DuPage County To Call Coronavirus Patients For Contact Tracing

The phone calls are part of an initiative to help coronavirus patients identify and notify their close contacts.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — The DuPage County Health Department has started a contact tracing program to monitor the spread of coronavirus. As part of the program, the health department will call people who tested positive for coronavirus to trace close their contacts.

If a resident has tested positive for coronavirus, DuPage County health staff may call them from 312-777-1999 with the caller ID as COVID CONTACT. If the resident misses the call, they can call the number back to speak with a contact tracing specialist.

Contact tracing specialists will ask the resident about those with whom they may have had close contact while ill. Residents will be informed about self-isolation and encouraged to notify family members and other people with whom they may have had close contact.
