DuPage County Coronavirus Update: 1,009 Cases, 39 Deaths

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — As of Friday, DuPage County reports 1,009 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus and 39 deaths. County officials say the number of positive cases is "likely much higher" due to cases that are "unreported or untested."
The news comes as cases in Illinois reach 17,887. The statewide death toll from coronavirus was at 596 as of Friday.

The county's new system of reporting shows confirmed coronavirus cases in age groups from 0 through 9 years old to 80 and older. It also includes a breakdown of cases by municipality.
