DuPage County Early Voting Ballots Delayed Until Feb. 21

WHEATON, IL — The early voting period in DuPage County starts on Thurs. Feb. 8, but residents won't be able to get ballots at the Election Commission on that day. The election commission website states that ballots will not be available until Feb. 21 due to challenges including a stay that is pending appeal in the Attorney General race. The ballots were initially expected to be available Feb. 12.

According to the election commission, the ballot delay is linked Monday's "Appellate Court Order For Stay Pending Appeal in Rottman v. ISBE, et al., No. 18-0234 in reference to the Attorney General race."

In the interim, DuPage County residents who come to the Election Commission will receive an application to vote by mail, according to officials.

The DuPage County Election Commission estimates that ballots will be available on Feb. 21. At that time, they will also handle challenges to candidate placement before preparing the official ballot.

DuPage County residents can only cast early votes in person through March 3 at the DuPage County County Election Commission, 421 N. County Farm Rd., Wheaton.

As of March 5, early voting becomes available at 10 additional locations in DuPage County, including:

• Bartlett Community Center 700 S. Bartlett Rd., Bartlett
• Downers Grove Village Hall 801 Burlington Ave., Downers Grove
• Elmhurst City Hall 209 N. York Rd., Elmhurst
• Glen Ellyn Civic Center 535 Duane St., Glen Ellyn
• DuPage County Election Commission (2nd Floor Cafeteria) 421 N. County Farm Rd., Wheaton
• Naperville Municipal Center 400 Eagle St., Naperville
• Olive Trees Condominiums 200 E. Bailey Rd., Naperville
• Stratford Square Mall 152 Stratford Square, Bloomingdale
• Fox Valley Mall 195 Fox Valley Center Dr., Aurora
• Yorktown Center 203 Yorktown Mall Dr., Lombard
