DuPage County Tops 900 Coronavirus Deaths: Health Department

The risk of coronavirus transmission in DuPage County is "substantial," according to the health department.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — DuPage County has seen 256 new coronavirus cases and four deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). In total, there have been 60,077 coronavirus cases and 926 deaths in DuPage County, Illinois Department of Public Health reports.

The news comes as total cases in Illinois reach 937,909. The statewide death toll from coronavirus was at 15,969 as of Sunday and the recovery rate was 98 percent, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

DuPage County's system of reporting shows confirmed coronavirus cases in age groups from 0 through 9 years old to 80 and older. It also includes a breakdown of cases by municipality.

According to the county's breakdown, the majority of cases have affected those between the ages of 40 and 70, but all age ranges had confirmed cases. In recent weeks, there has been an uptick in cases among residents who are 20-29 years old.
