DuPage Medical Group Expands 3-D Mammography to Wheaton and Naperville
DMG offers advanced three-dimensional mammography services at locations in Hinsdale, Lisle, Glen Ellyn and now Naperville and Wheaton.

NAPERVILLE & WHEATON, Ill.—DuPage Medical Group (DMG), the largest independent, multi-specialty physician group in the Chicago area, is further expanding its diagnostic imaging services by offering 3-D mammography at more locations throughout the western suburbs to provide additional access for patients. Also known as breast tomosynthesis, the three-dimensional screening service is now available at a second location in Naperville at 2940 RollingRidge Road, as well as in Wheaton at 150 E. Willow Ave. Tomosynthesis is also currently available at DMG locations in Hinsdale, Lisle, Naperville (Rickert) and Glen Ellyn.
Using 3-D mammography, radiologists can better identify individual breast structures and scroll through layers of the breast in one-millimeter increments, rather than viewing all layers of tissue superimposed. This layer-by-layer approach removes overlapping breast tissue, which can hide lesions and allows radiologists to view a mammogram in a way never before possible. DMG radiologists conduct 3-D mammograms for both preventive screenings and diagnostic exams.
“We are excited to continue to expand our 3-D mammography services deeper into Naperville and now in Wheaton,” said Anne Zimmermann, MD. “To provide the best care for our patients, we provide 3D mammograms for both screening and diagnostic mammograms. The sophistication of this technology provides patients with peace of mind, knowing that any abnormalities can be detected earlier, with less need to return for additional imaging.”

Lasting just seconds longer than traditional 2-D digital mammograms, the 3-D technology allows radiologists to more clearly identify structures in the breast. While similar to the traditional mammogram procedure, an additional benefit of tomosynthesis allows for technologists to review the scans in real time, helping patients avoid future callbacks for further testing.
All DMG Breast Centers are certified as Pink Ribbon Facilities by Hologic—a distinction awarded only to an elite group of healthcare facilities offering the latest, state-of-the-art digital technology for breast cancer detection. In addition, the American College of Radiology (ACR) has designated DMG’s Naperville Breast Center and its Lisle Breast Center as Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence (BICOE). The ACR recognizes breast-imaging centers that have earned accreditation in all of the College’s voluntary, breast-imaging accreditation programs and modules, in addition to the mandatory Mammography Accreditation Program.
