Embrace Holiday Spirit During Lions Club 5K Reindeer Run In Wheaton

Costumes and antlers are encouraged for the 2022 Reindeer Run 5K, which will be held in downtown Wheaton on Dec. 3.

WHEATON, IL — Downtown Wheaton will be filled with runners and walkers clad in reindeer costumes and antlers for the 2022 Lions Club 5K Reindeer Run, which is set for Dec. 3. The race will be hosted by the Wheaton Lions Club and the city's park district, with proceeds benefiting local charities.

“The Reindeer Run allows us to support a lot of organizations in the area,” Wheaton Lions ClubVice President Joel Riley, chair of this year's Reindeer Run said in a statement.

He added, "We’re focused on giving back to nonprofits.”

Registration is $35 per person through Nov. 29. After that, the registration fee increases to $40 per person through Dec. 3.

Participants can also complete the race virtually any time between Dec. 3 and Dec. 17. The fee to take part in the virtual race is $30 per person.

Each runner will receive a race packet and a pair of fuzzy antlers to help them get into the spirit of the season.

The Lions Club 5K Reindeer Run kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 3. Runners will make their way around the heart of the city, passing several downtown landmarks before they cross the finish line outside of DuPage Historical Museum.

After the race, an awards ceremony will be held to recognize the runners with the top finishing times.
