The Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans will hold its sixth annual golf outing and Texas BBQ fundraiser on Sunday, Aug. 28. Eighteen holes of golf, in a team scramble format, begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. A complete Texas BBQ buffet dinner follows golf at 6 p.m.
Located in downtown Wheaton, MSHV is a transitional housing program that provides counseling, access to health care and educational and job-training services to U.S. veterans of any era to help them out of homelessness and back to useful, productive lives.
