Festival Of Cultures Celebrates Diversity With Shows, Stories, More
Residents can immerse themselves in other traditions at the fifth Festival of Cultures, which will be held at Memorial Park in September.

WHEATON, IL — Irish tunes, Indo-Afro music, Latin-infused jazz and other performances will immerse visitors in the city's diverse culture during the 5th Festival of Cultures in downtown Wheaton.
In the spotlight at this year's festival are traditions from:
- Belarus
- China
- India
- Ireland
- Mexico
- The Netherlands
- Native American culture
- South Korea
- South Sudan
The Sept. 17 event will also bring food trucks serving up an array of eats.

Additionally, the free, interactive experience includes storytelling and booths that share information about different cultures.

1 p.m.: Mayor Phil Suess and city officials welcome guests
1:10 p.m.: Salsa del Norte
2:10 p.m.: Wheaton College Gospel Choir
2:45 p.m.: Midwest Soarring
3:10 p.m.: Murphy Roche Irish Musicians
3:45 p.m.: Funkadesi
When you get to the festival, be sure to pick up a "passport" that you can get stamped at each cultural booth.
