Food, Winter Gear Sought For 'Wheaton Gives Back' During October

Popup donation spots will be set up throughout the city to help those in need as the holiday season approaches.

WHEATON, IL — Donation spots will be set up throughout the city to accept winter gear for People's Resource Center as part of the "Wheaton Gives Back" initiative. The month-long effort also includes a Stuff-a-Truck event on Oct. 27 and a Halloween-themed collection on Oct. 28.

Here's where to find collection boxes throughout the city, where you can donate gently used or new coats, hats and other winter clothing:

On Oct. 27, residents are invited to volunteer for a "Stuff-a-Truck" event to benefit People's Resource Center. Two shifts are available: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The deadline to register to volunteer is Oct. 13.

Oct. 28 will bring a collection drive to the Trick-or-Treat event in downtown Wheaton, with donation boxes available at Wyckwood House, C'Zar Salon and Spa and Pedego Wheaton.
