Homeless Man Allegedly Sexually Assaulted Woman On Prairie Path
Police say the man dragged a woman by the hair and then assaulted her.
WHEATON, IL -- A homeless man is in custody after he was accused of dragging a woman into a wooded part of Prairie Path in Wheaton and sexually harassed her. Robert Davison, 38, has been charged with one felony count of criminal sexual assault in connection with the incident, which took place just before 1 a.m. Friday.
Witnesses told police they heard someone screaming for help in the vicinity of the city's PADS shelter. Responding officers say they found the victim with scratches and dirt on her person.
Davison had allegedly grabbed the victim by her hair and dragged her into the woods before sexually assaulting her. Police say Davidson fled after the assault.

He was arrested Sunday and taken into custody without incident.
DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin called the alleged assault a "horrific crime," and said in a statement, "Sexual assaults are degrading and among the most invasive crimes a victim can endure."

Davison is currently being held at DuPage County Jail on $750,000 bond. He is set to appear in court again on June 15.
