Linden Oaks Run for Recovery 5K Sept. 9 at Danada Forest Preserve

The Run for Recovery 5K was founded as a way to destigmatize addiction issues in the community and coincides with National Recovery Month,

Registration is open for the Run for Recovery 5K, presented by Linden Oaks Behavioral Health and Breaking Free. The Run for Recovery 5K will take place Saturday, Sept. 9, 10 a.m. at the Danada Forest Preserve, 3S580 Naperville Rd. (one mile south of Butterfield Rd.) in Wheaton.

The Run/Walk is a partnership between Linden Oaks and Breaking Free to support those fighting addiction, remember those who’ve lost their lives and celebrate those in recovery. Proceeds benefit addiction programs and addiction services.

The course is a 5K trail-style course through woodlands, meadows and fields. The 5K will be followed by a post-race celebration including music and awards. All are welcome – from competitive runners to novice walkers, as well as children and adolescents.
