WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton man was arrested Monday after police said he tried to force his way into two different homes in less than 24 hours. Dillon Durrett, 19, of the 2100 block of West Creekside Drive, was charged with attempted criminal trespassing and attempted burglary in connection with the incidents.

Police said Durrett tried to force his way into a home in 1500 block of Wiesbrook Road around 11 a.m. Sunday. On Monday, Durrett is accused of trying to forcibly enter a home in the 2100 block of Fox Run.

In a statement, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said, "A person's home is their sanctuary in which they have every right to feel safe and secure. It is alleged that under the cover of night, Mr. Durrett attempted to forcibly enter his victim's home while she was sleeping."
