March's WWEA Educator Spotlight
The Wheaton Warrenville Education Association (WWEA) would like to introduce Ms. Pearl Webb, an educator at Monroe Middle School in CUSD200.

The Wheaton Warrenville Education Association (WWEA) would like to introduce Ms. Pearl Webb, a 2 year middle school science teacher with 5 years teaching experience. Ms. Webb is currently teaching at Monroe Middle School in District 200 after a year at Hubble Middle School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Level Education from Illinois State University and received endorsements in Language Arts, Science, Reading, and Social Studies.
Ms. Webb chose education as her profession because she had such a positive experience as a student in District 200. She attended Bower Elementary, Hubble Middle, and Wheaton Warrenville South High School. Ms. Webb reflected on her educational experience by stating, “The teachers encouraged me, challenged me, appreciated me, and were such positive role models for me growing up.” Most of her elementary and middle school teachers have already retired, but she reminisced about some of her most inspiring teachers from WWS including: Ms. Joanne Dimare, Mr. Chris Hendrickson, Mrs. Shana WIlliams, and Mr. Jeff Wiesman. Ms. Webb hopes that she can encourage her students to love school as much as she did.
The field of education means the world to Ms. Webb. She believes that being an educator means being a positive role model who encourages students while providing support academically, socially, and emotionally. She strives to model positive relationships and to provide a safe atmosphere where students feel comfortable taking risks and learning from their mistakes. One of her fondest memories as an educator occurred when a struggling social studies student approached her after several days of engaging ancient civilizations activities and said, “You know what? I like Social Studies now.” This is what every educator hopes to hear.
