In the spirit of this summer's block-buster exhibition "Alebrijes: Creatures of a Dream World," Cantigny Park presents Mariachi Herencia de México in concert Sunday, July 31 beginning at 7 p.m. The historic tradition of mariachi music has roots in cities like Guadalajara and Mexico City.

This Latin GRAMMY-nominated, Chicago-based group of young Mexican-American musicians has released four highly acclaimed studio albums with chart-topping debuts on both the Billboard and the iTunes Latin Albums charts. WBEZ hailed their 2018 release "Herencia de la Tierra" a "powerful celebration of music and life with a showcase of splendid young talent;" and Latin Times called their 2020 release "Esencia, Vol. 2" a "new classic of mariachi music."

Mariachi Herencia de México has toured throughout the U.S., Mexico and Canada performing in some of the most prestigious performing arts centers, including Washington D.C.’s The Kennedy Center and Guadalajara’s Teatro Degollado. The U.K.'s Songlines gives them "4-Stars."
