Nearly 950 Pounds Of Items Donated To Veterans In Operation Drop Box Launch

WHEATON, IL — Close to 950 pounds of items were donated to veterans in the first month of DuPage County Health Department's Operation Dropbox initiative.

Donation sites were set up at 22 locations throughout DuPage county to accept household cleaning supplies, personal care items and more to help Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans.

“A heartfelt thank‑you to everyone who donated and to every site that opened its doors to support Operation Dropbox,” Adam Forker, Executive Director of DuPage County Health Department, said in a statement.

“Your generosity made our first Operation Dropbox a true community effort, and your support will positively impact our DuPage veterans and their families.”

Founded in 2018 in McHenry County, Operation Dropbox collects household goods, hygiene products and other items via popup locations throughout each participating county. The collected items are then donated to causes that support veterans.
