New City Attorney Named To Replace Knippen In Wheaton
Dawn Didier will become the new city attorney for Wheaton after City Attorney James Knippen retires Feb. 6.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton officials have hired Dawn Didier as their new city attorney. Didier will take over the mantle from James Knippen, who is set to retire Feb. 6 after 20 years in the role.
Didier will head up the newly formed city legal department Wheaton has established after four decades with the firm Walsh, Knippen and Cetina.
Prior to signing on with Wheaton, Didier worked as Assistant City Attorney for the village of Downers Grove and the city of DeKalb. She earned her law degree at John Marshall Law School.

“With Dawn’s vast municipal experience and skills, our search team found her to be the ideal person to become the new City Attorney and head of the Legal Department," City Manager Michael Dzugan said in a news release.
