New Youth Program in Wheaton Recognizes Inspiring Community Members

Active Inspiring Minds, or AIM, is a group of 11-18 year olds from the Marian Park community who are contributing their time and energy to recognizing the activism and involvement of individuals in and around Wheaton. The group, facilitated by DuCAP, was formed in late 2014 and gave the first awards to people who had directly influenced their lives. The first was Juan Galan, a local resident who had donated his time and energy to form seasonal sports leagues for the kids in the area. The second award went to the Kiwanis Club of Wheaton for their work in the community, and was presented at this past December’s Holiday Party. After a brief hiatus for the new year, the group has reconvened and will be presenting its next award in the beginning of February.  If you would like to nominate someone to be recognized for their work in the community email Adam@DuCAP.org.
