Northwestern Medicine Opens 'Global Destination' For Advanced Endoscopy In Winfield

WINFIELD, IL — Northwestern Medicine's Center for Advanced Endoscopy is now open in Winfield, bringing what the hospital calls a "global destination for advanced endoscopy" to the western suburbs.

Located at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, the $15 million center serves as a comprehensive location, where patients can go for consultations, testing, treatment and followup appointments.

The space spans 20,000 square feet and is equipped with AI-enabled diagnostics, robotics, advanced imaging and other state-of the-art technologies.

Endocopist and Medical Director Dr. Amrita Sethi leads the center's team of physicians, nurses, technicians and other medical professionals.

In a statement, Sethi said the center will also take part in clinical research and host training programs to help develop further development in the field.

Sethi said, "Active research is essential to bringing the latest advances directly to our patients. By participating in and generating new science, our patients benefit from what’s available now and what’s coming next.”

Being located at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital will help the center offer care to more patience, according to Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital President Ken Hedley.

Hedley said, "Local patients now have access to the most advanced endoscopic procedures right here in the western suburbs, without the added burden of traveling far from home."

He added, “These physicians are some of the most recognized and respected interventional endoscopists in the world. They’re changing how and where this level of care is delivered and putting Central DuPage Hospital on the map as a leader for complex GI care, research and innovation."
