I became aware of potential problems with Smart meters and brought my concerns to the Wheston City council about two years ago. There are legitimate concerns (not UL approved, fires, health affects, privacy, electric rates going UP!). Citizens should be informed in advance and understand both the pros and cons of these meters and have an option to opt-in or opt-out without extra fees.
