Property Tax Levy Unchanged After Wheaton Approves 2023 Budget

Wheaton residents will not see an increase to their property tax levy after the city approved its 2023 fiscal year budget.

WHEATON, IL — For the fourth consecutive year, Wheaton residents will not see an increase in their property taxes after the city council approved the 2023 fiscal year budget. Additionally, no new taxes will be levied and no changes will be made to parking, water or sewer rates.

According to news release, the budget will apportion $26.9 million to funding capital projects. For 2023 to 2027, these include replacing or repairing sewer systems, sidewalks, traffic lights and other infrastructure.

“Even in uncertain economic times, Wheaton residents and businesses can rest assured that their City is in elite company when it comes to financial position,” City Manager Michael Dzugan said in a statement.

Dzugan added, “The City is continually planning, evaluating and adjusting to make fiscally smart choices both in the long term and immediate term for our community."
