River City Roasters Wins U.S. Chamber Dream Big Small Business Award
Congrats to the local business!

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, partnered with Sam’s Club, picks the winners from applicants from across the country. Applicants are judged in four key categories: strategic planning, employee development, customer service, and community involvement.
“It reaffirms this year that what we are doing as far as a business model and our involvement in the community here in Wheaton, and in Uganda currently, that we don’t just think it’s a good idea. There’s other people, there are professionals who say, “Wow, we think your business is good,” co-owner Erich Goepel told the Daily Herald. “That really motivates me. The money is not always there, but we’re moving in the right direction that will be very sustainable soon.”
You can still vote for River City Roasters to help the business win the 2016 Community Excellence Award, which is part of the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year awards program. The Community Excellence Award recognizes a business that has found success in the eyes of its community, generously giving of its time, resources, and expertise. Votes will be taken through March 4 here.
On March 15, the U.S. Chamber will announce the regional finalists. One of those finalists will receive the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award and a $10,000 cash prize.
All award winners will be honored at the 12th annual America’s Small Business Summit held June 13 to 15 in Washington, D.C.
