Road Closures For Lowell School 'Dash For Dr. Murphy' In Wheaton
The 5K will close some roads in downtown Wheaton between 8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Saturday.
WHEATON, IL — Lowell School's Dash for Dr. Murphy will take place on Saturday, April 28 in Wheaton. If you're not participating in the event and plan to travel that day, you may run into some traffic from the race. The following streets will be closed or partially closed fro 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. to accommodate the runners and walkers:
- Chase St. between Evergreen and Crescent
- Crescent St. between Chase and Washington
- Evergreen St. between Washington and Chase
- Willow Ave. between President and Chase
City officials say police officers will be posted throughout the area to help redirect traffic.
The annual Dash for Dr. Murphy 5K helps raise funds for the American Cancer Society in honor of late Lowell School principal Dr. Rosemary Murphy, who died in 2003 after a long battle with cancer.
