Road Closures For Run For The Stars 5K In Wheaton

See which roads will be closed for Saturday's 5K event.

WHEATON, IL --- With summer festivals and events in full gear, and the Wheaton Streetscape Project underway, there will be frequent road closures throughout the coming months. On Saturday, June 9, some roads will be closed in an around downtown Wheaton to accommodate the 2018 College Church Run for the Stars 5K.

The race is set to step off Monday at 7 a.m. and festivities will last until around 10 a.m., according to Wheaton city officials.

The following streets will be closed during that time to allow for runners and onlookers to get around safely. Police officers will be on hand to help direct the flow of traffic in the following areas, according to Wheaton officials.

  • East Seminary Avenue between Scott Street & Washington Street
  • College Avenue between Washington Street & Howard Street
  • Howard Street closed between College Avenue and University Place
  • University Place closed between Howard Street and Webster Avenue
  • Chase Street north of the Union Pacific railroad tracks
  • Washington Street north of Wesley Street to East Hawthorne Blvd
  • Webster Avenue between University Place and Cadillac Drive
  • Cadillac Drive closed between Webster Avenue and Wakeman Avenue
  • Wakeman Avenue between Santa Rosa and Washington Street
  • East Hawthorne Boulevard between North Washington Street and North Scott Street
  • North Scott between East Hawthorne Boulevard and East Prairie Avenue
  • East Prairie Avenue between North Scott Street and North Washington Street
  • Oak Avenue between Washington Street and Santa Rosa Avenue
  • Santa Rosa Avenue between Oak Avenue and Forest Avenue
  • East Forest Avenue between Santa Rosa and Washington Street
  • North Washington Street between East Forest Avenue and College Avenue

If you're not taking part in the Run for the Stars 5K, be sure to allow yourself extra travel time if you're going anywhere in the morning.
