Road Closures To Take Effect In Downtown Wheaton During Race

WHEATON, IL — Several road closures will take effect Saturday to accommodate the College Church Race for the Stars in downtown Wheaton.

Starting at 8 a.m., the following closures will be in effect:

• East Seminary Avenue from Scott Street to Washington Street
• College Avenue from Washington Street to Howard Street
• Howard Street from College Avenue to University Place
• University Place from Howard Street to Webster Avenue
• Chase Street north of the Union Pacific railroad tracks
• Washington Street from Wesley Street to East Hawthorne Blvd
• Webster Avenue from University Place to Cadillac Drive
• Cadillac Drive from Webster Avenue to Wakeman Avenue
• Wakeman Avenue from Santa Rosa to Washington Street
• East Hawthorne Boulevard from North Washington Street to North Scott Street
• North Scott from East Hawthorne Boulevard to East Prairie Avenue
• East Prairie Avenue from North Scott Street to North Washington Street
• Oak Avenue from Washington Street to Santa Rosa Avenue
• Santa Rosa Avenue from Oak Avenue to Forest Avenue
• East Forest Avenue from Santa Rosa to Washington Street
• North Washington Street from East Forest Avenue to College Avenue

Police will be on hand to help direct traffic until the race wraps up at 10:30 a.m.

The College Church Run for the Stars marks its 20th anniversary this year. The race helps raise funds to aid local adults and children with disabilities.
