Road Closures To Take Effect July 4 Weekend In Wheaton

WHEATON, IL — Temporary road closures will be in effect July 3 and July 4 to accommodate Wheaton's Fourth of July fireworks show and parade.

Wheaton has planned a fireworks display for July 3 at Graf Park. The show is expected to kick off at 9 p.m. and will be preceded by family-friendly activities that start at 5:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to expect traffic in the following areas during the celebration:

• North County Farm Road from West Roosevelt Road to Geneva Road
• Manchester Road from East Street to North Gables Boulevard
• Side streets in nearby neighborhoods and near DuPage County Fairgrounds

In addition, parking may be prohibited in some areas starting at 12 p.m. These restricted areas will be marked with a sign.

On July 4, Wheaton's 2022 Fourth of July Parade will step off at 10 a.m. downtown. Here's a look at the streets that will be closed downtown to accommodate the parade:

• Main Street from Cole to Seminary
• Main Street from Liberty to Wesley
• Wesley Street from Washington to Scott
• Harrison Avenue from Wheaton to Cross
• Wheaton Avenue from Franklin to Front
• Union Avenue from West to Main
• Seminary Avenue from West to Main
• Wesley Avenue from Wheaton to Main
• Front Street from West to Cross

Police officers will be on hand to help direct traffic while the closures are effective.

The Fourth of July festivities in Wheaton will also lead to street parking restrictions in the following areas on July 3 and July 4:

• Both sides of Union Avenue between Wheaton and Main
• Both sides of Wheaton Avenue between Union and Front
• Both sides of Front Street between Wheaton and Cross

No parking will be permitted in the above areas from 9 p.m. on July 3 to 12 p.m. July 4.
