TRAFFIC ALERT: Road Closures in Wheaton This Weekend for Fun Run in Color

WHEATON, IL — Residents can expect slight traffic delays next Saturday when the Fun Run in Color 2017 takes over downtown Wheaton. The race begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to affect traffic through 11:30 a.m. when the event ends. During this time period, these streets will be staffed with uniformed police officers to assist and direct traffic. Motorists may experience temporary traffic delays and choose to alter their travel route to avoid these areas.

The following streets will be temporarily closed:

• North Main Street from Seminary Avenue to Harrison Avenue (temporary detour signs will be posted for southbound Main Street traffic);
• West Street from Northside Park to Seminary Avenue;
• Prairie Avenue from Wheaton Avenue to West Street;
• Madison Avenue from Cross Street to West Street;
• Lincoln Avenue from Wheaton Avenue to West Street;
• Jefferson Avenue from Wheaton Avenue to West Street;
• Union Avenue from West Street to Main Street;
• Wheaton Avenue from Prairie Avenue to Wesley Street; and
• Karlskoga Avenue from Hale Street to Wheaton Avenue.

Additionally Karlskoga Avenue between Wheaton Avenue and Hale Street will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday, April 21, to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22, for pre- and post-race event activities.
