Robert Brill Named Chief Of Wheaton Fire Department
Robert Brill will be sworn in as the new chief of the Wheaton Fire Department on Jan. 17.

WHEATON, IL — A new chief is set to head up the Wheaton Fire Department at the start of the new year. Robert Brill will be sworn in on Jan. 17, replacing Chief Bill Schultz, who retired in July after 19 years of service.
Brill comes to Wheaton from the Wilmette Fire Department, where he served as Deputy Chief after 20 years of service.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University before becoming a police officer in Palatine. Brill has also been designated a Chief Fire Officer by the Center for Public Safety Excellence and an Executive Fire Officer by the National Fire Academy.

“Many people choose to live in Wheaton because this is a safe community that provides excellent services to our residents and businesses,” City Manager Michael Dzugan said in a statement.
He added, "Our fire department is an important part of that, and Chief Brill’s extensive experience will make him a great fit to lead this outstanding department. We are pleased to welcome him to Wheaton."

In his own statement, Brill called Wheaton "a desirable community to work and live in."
He said he "look[s] forward to leading this group of dedicated professionals as we continue our mission of delivering the high-quality service expected by our residents and visitors."
