Russian Ministries Announces New Name: Mission Eurasia

Ministry Update from Mission Eurasia

WHEATON, IL, January 9, 2015—The Board of Directors of Peter Deyneka Russian Ministries (also known as Russian Ministries), located in Wheaton, IL, recently approved a new name for its organization: Mission Eurasia. According to President Sergey Rakhuba, this new name expands the overall geographic scope and impact of the organization throughout the post-Soviet world as it follows its vision to “evangelize, train, equip and mobilize the Next Generation in the countries of the former Soviet Union/Eurasia to lead the church in transforming their nations for Christ.” Rakhuba also believes that the new name, Mission Eurasia, will help to eliminate confusion about their possible association with any particular country or regime.

Anita Deyneka, co-founder of Russian Ministries and permanent Director Emeritus, as well as wife of the organization’s late founder, Peter Deyneka, Jr., enthusiastically supports the new name: “I am excited and eager to see Peter Deyneka Russian Ministries moving dynamically into the future as Mission Eurasia. The goal of my late husband, Peter, was to pursue the biblical core values of the ministry, seeking always how to most strategically communicate the gospel in changing times. Mission Eurasia will be building solidly on that legacy.” To honor the legacy of their founder, Peter Deyneka, Jr., Mission Eurasia plans to continue to highlight his name in their communications.

Dr. Joseph Stowell, president of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan and former president of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, also expresses strong support for the choice of Mission Eurasia: “The work of Mission Eurasia has a long and distinguished history of effective Kingdom work. I have followed with great interest and admiration their progressive adaptation to the changing landscape of Europe without compromising the changeless message of the gospel. I love the new name but love even more their ongoing passion for the advancement of Christ’s work in challenging environments.”
