On April 20, a woman was working in a desk cubicle at the Warrenville Public Library when she allegedly felt something brush up against her feet several times, according to the state’s attorney’s office. Prosecutors say Carlton, on at least four occasions, placed his bare foot on top of the woman’s open-toed shoes while she was working. The woman immediately told the library staff what Carlton allegedly had done. Library staff contacted the Warrenville Police Department whom, after conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, identified Carlton as a suspect, according to the state’s attorney’s office.
“While in public place such as a library, people are entitled to a certain amount of personal space,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said. “Any type of unwanted physical contact will not be tolerated and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
