Sheriff Mendrick Suspends Evictions Through Holiday Season
The sheriff said the temporary suspension will allow residents to stay in their homes during the holidays.

WHEATON, IL --- DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick recently announced that he will temporarily suspend evictions throughout the county to ensure that resident can spend the holidays in their homes. Mendrick announced Monday that evictions would be suspended between Dec. 21 and Jan. 2.
In a statement, Mendrick said, "This short-term suspension of evictions will allow families to be assured they will be able to stay in their homes and with their families during the holiday season.”
Mendrick also urged families who need assistance with housing to take advantage of DuPage County's housing support and assistance programs.
