Sheriff's Deputies Isue 42 Tickets Issued During Distracted Driving Month In DuPage County
During the safety campaign, sheriff's deputies also made seven arrests.
DUPAGE COUNTY — DuPage County Sheriff's officers issued 42 tickets and made seven arrests during increased patrols for Distracted Driving Month in April.
Three arrests were made for aggravated speeding, three for driving with a suspended license and one for driving with a revoked license.

- 19 distracted driving tickets
- 14 speeding citations
- 3 tickets for driving without insurance
- 1 ticket for driving with expired plates
- 1 ticket for disobeying a stop sign
- 1 ticket for improper lane usage
- 1 ticket for passing in a no passing zone
- 1 ticket for failing to carry a driver's license
- 1 ticket for passing on the shoulder
"Distracted driving remains a serious problem in DuPage County and one moment of inattention can change lives forever," DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick said in a statement."
He added, "High-visibility enforcement is one way we remind drivers that safe driving requires their full attention. April may be over, but our message is not. DuPage County Sheriff's Office will continue enforcing distracted driving laws and urging motorists to put the phone away whenever they get behind the wheel."
