Slight Increase In New Coronavirus Cases In Wheaton
Since March, Wheaton has seen 3,835 coronavirus cases, according to DuPage County Health Department.
WHEATON, IL — In Wheaton, the number of coronavirus cases has increased by 44 cases in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). This reflects a slight increase over the previous week, in which Wheaton saw 40 new coronavirus cases.
As of Feb. 16, there had been 3,791 coronavirus cases reported in Wheaton. The total number of cases reported in Wheaton as of Feb. 23 was 3,835.

In Glen Ellyn, the number of coronavirus cases has increased by 23 cases in the past week. On Feb. 16, the village had reported 2,700 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 2,723 as of Feb. 23.

Glen Ellyn has had 36 coronavirus-related deaths since March. Wheaton has had 58 confirmed deaths since the county started tracking its coronavirus numbers, DCHD data shows.
DuPage County recently topped 76,000 coronavirus cases and reported its first case of coronavirus variant B.1.17, which was first detected in the United Kingdom. The risk of transmission in DuPage County is currently classified as "substantial."
