Snowstorm Delays Garbage Collection In DuPage County

The heavy snowfall will delay trash pickup by one day, according to Waste Management Officials.

WHEATON, IL — Garbage collection has been delayed a day for DuPage County residents due to the winter snowstorm, according to a news release from Waste Management of Illinois, Inc. Residents whose normal trash collection day is Friday will have trash pickup on Saturday.

Lisa Disbrow, spokespersonn for Waste Management of Illinois said in a statement, “Due to the forecasted snowfall, our residential service will be delayed one-day toSaturday for those customers with Friday service. We are taking these steps to ensure the safety of our drivers as well as the communities we serve.”

Residents should leave their trash bins on the curb for collection on Saturday. Waste Management requests that residents clear snow around the containers to permit easier access for collection crews.
