St. Francis High School Sophomore Shea Mahoney Wins Spot on Region 5 All-Star Gymnastics Team

St. Francis High School sophomore Shea Mahoney recently competed in the Junior Olympic National Championships for gymnastics.  She won bronze medals on both the floor, with a score of 9.75, and beam, with a score of 9.675, and she received a sixth place medal for her vault, with a score of 9.775.  These scores contributed to her Region 5 team score for which they won the National Championship, as well as the super team Championship.

Shea's combined Regional and National competition scores have earned her a spot on the Region 5 All-Star team.  The team includes the top 12 gymnasts from the five-state region (Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky).  In July, this All-Star team will represent USA Gymnastics on a good will trip to the Dominican Republic.  Shea was also on this team last year and she traveled to London and Belgium.
