St. Francis Student Gets Perfect Score on ACT

The St. Francis High School senior Stephen Burns of Bartlett earned a perfect score of 36 on his June 2015 ACT test.
Burns and senior Karina Chan of Bloomingdale have been named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Burns and Chan are among the top 1 percent of the 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the fall 2014 PSAT exam as juniors, according to a St. Francis press release.
According the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, semifinalists “are designated on a state-representational basis and are the highest scoring entrants in each state.”

Burns and Chan will continue in the scholarship competition and National Merit finalists will be announced in February or March 2016.
