Stormwater Utility Fees May Change In Wheaton; Public Meetings Planned

WHEATON, IL — The City of Wheaton is considering making changes to its stormwater utility fees and is encouraging residents to attend two public meetings to learn more information and share feedback.

As of late August 2023, Wheaton residents and businesses charge stormwater utility fees based on usage, in addition to a flat fee. The proposed change would assess stormwater utility fees by the amount of water impervious surfaces a property has. These surfaces can range from homes and buildings to swimming pools and parking lots, according to an update from the City of Wheaton.
