Teach a Parent, Reach a Child: Volunteer with Literacy DuPage
Are you looking for an opportunity to literally change someone's life by becoming an English tutor?

Literacy DuPage provides free, accessible and customized tutoring in English to adult learners in DuPage County. We are seeking volunteers to help literally change the lives of our learners through one-on-one tutoring. To learn about how you can serve your community as a volunteer tutor, call us at (630) 416-6699 to sign up for our next volunteer orientation, which is at the Carol Stream Public Library on Tuesday August 18 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
No prior teaching experience is necessary. You will receive 18 hours of training and continued support throughout the tutoring process. You will gain the knowledge and resources that you need to provide a learning experience that is tailored to your learner’s specific goals. Goals of our learners range from filling out basic forms to being able to have a conversation with their children’s teachers or pediatricians.
As a tutor, you will be matched with a learner who can meet you at a mutually convenient time and location for 2 hours each week. We have over 200 learners (from all over DuPage County) who are waiting for tutors.
