Temporary Stop Signs Set Up During Traffic Signal Work In Wheaton
The temporary stop signs will be set up for six to eight weeks, officials said.

WHEATON, IL — Starting August 13, drivers in Wheaton will notice temporary stop signs placed near two intersections in the city as crews begin replacing traffic signals. The affected intersections include West St. and Front St. and West St. and Liberty Dr.
The temporary stop signs will help control the flow of traffic during this time. Officials note in a press release that traffic patterns will also be affected during this time. The stop sign on northbound West St. at Front St. will be temporarily removed at the railroad tracks to facilitate traffic movement.
Southbound traffic on West St. also will not have a stop sign at Liberty Dr. near the train tracks during this time, officials say. Signs will be posted to help drivers navigate these intersections and to remind motorists not to stop on the train tracks.
