School's out! Shoot holiday hoops, find some fossils, and play ball next week.

1. Holiday hoops. Don't give your child more stuff for the holidays. Give them an experience like Holiday Hoops Camp, December 27-30, 9A-1P! Learn, improve, and have fun on the hardwood as 3Point Athletics teaches skill development through friendly full-court games and competitions. Perfect for all abilities. Holiday Hoops Camp is held at the Central Athletic Complex (500 S. Naperville Rd.). Register online for 6-to-8-year-olds, 8-to-11-year-olds, and 11-to-14-year-olds.

2. Find some fossils. Melt away the winter blues and relieve cabin fever at Jr. Paleontologist Camp, December 27-29, 9A-12P! This mini-camp includes investigating authentic dinosaur fossils, research, humor, collaborative work, games, and a craft. Please bring a snack each day. Sessions held at the Wheaton Park District Community Center (1777 S. Blanchard St.). For ages 5 to 11. Register online.

3. Play ball. Winter's a great time to practice skills for the summer with WWSHS Baseball Skills Camp, December 27-28, 8-11A. Wheaton Warrenville South High School varsity baseball coach Tim Brylka focuses on the principles of hitting, throwing, and fielding. Bring a glove, long-sleeve shirt, and gym shoes. Fee includes camp t-shirt. Sessions held at Wheaton Warrenville South High School (1993 Tiger Trl.). Register online for 6-to-8-year-olds and 9-to-13-year-olds.
