#Top3Thursday at Wheaton Park District: March 9, 2017

Sample Irish Nachos, go nature-telling, and push petals next week.

1. Irish Nachos? Handcrafted potato chips, corned beef, green onion, tomato horseradish sauce, and cheddar cheese. That's what's on Irish Nachos, just one item from Arrowhead Golf Club's (26W151 Butterfield Rd.) menu for St. Patrick's Day, available March 11-17. Sample the Shepherd's Pie, with ground beef, Guinness gravy, peas, carrots, pearl onions, gratineed mashed potatoes, and parmesan. Or savor the Corned Beef and Cabbage: slow-cooked, tender corned beef, braised cabbage, baby carrots, and boiled red potatoes. On March 17 only, enjoy pints of Guinness and shots of Jameson for just $3.17! Prices vary. Make reservations at 630.653.5800 and see the menu here.

2. Storytelling comes natural. Join staff from Lincoln Marsh at the Wheaton Public Library (225 N. Cross St.) for Nature-Telling and hear a nature story and make a craft on March 14, 11-11:30A! For ages 2 to 5 with adult. Limit of 15 pairs. Free. Register with the library's Children's Services Department at 630.868.7540.

3. Petal pushing. Come join Glitzy Girlz for a jump start into spring at Flower Power, March 16, 6-7:15P! Our staff will pamper with a hair up-do with flower accents, sparkle makeup, and nail application with flower decals. Each participant designs her own flower ceramic craft and a beaded bracelet with flower charm. At the end of class, we'll provide flowered hula skirts to use (not keep) and maracas, then teach fun hula dancing with music. Session held at the Wheaton Park District Community Center (1777 S. Blanchard St.). For ages 4 to 10. $32 per resident; $40 per nonresident. Register online.
