Traffic Delays Possible Due to Free Paper Shredding Event in Wheaton

The Wheaton Environmental Improvement Commission will hold a free paper shredding event for residents April 8. Traffic delays are possible.

The City of Wheaton warns commuters to expect traffic delays from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 8 because Commuter Parking Lot 9 will be closed for a free paper shredding event. No streets will be closed, but residents should consider taking an alternate route to avoid traffic at Carlton Avenue and Liberty Drive.

At the April 8 event, Wheaton residents can get rid of their old papers and documents for free from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Residents can bring three boxes of paper (roughly the size of copier paper boxes) to the event, which is hosted by Wheaton’s Environmental Improvement Commission. Residents can drop off their boxes in the Wheaton Commuter Parking Lot 9 at the intersection of Liberty Drive and Carlton Avenue. If you’re planning to haul your papers to the event, be sure to remove staples, rubber bands, page protectors and file tabs. For more information, visit the City of Wheaton website.
