Video Gambling Ban Lifted In Unincorporated DuPage County
County officials voted 11 to 6 to repeal the decade-long ban.

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — A decade-long ban on video gambling in unincorporated parts of DuPage County has been lifted. County officials voted 11 to 6 Tuesday in favor of repealing the ban.
The shift will allow businesses with liquor licenses in unincorporated areas to install as many as six video gambling machines. In a news release, DuPage County board members noted that the change gives businesses in unincorporated areas "a level playing field."
The repeal also promises to bring economic benefits to greater DuPage County. The county estimates it can make $275,000 in annual revenue by permitting video gambling.
